If you are a licensed Ohio attorney and you would like to be placed upon the list of attorneys who are available to be appointed to represent indigent persons in prosecuting appeals, please write a letter to the Court. Include your attorney registration number, address or addresses, phone number and the counties in which you would be willing to take an appeal. Appointments may be made in criminal or juvenile cases, including appeals from determinations of dependency or neglect and cases terminating parental rights. If you would like to limit your appointments to a particular type of case, please indicate your preference in the letter.

Employment with the Court of Appeals

The 7th District Court of Appeals is accepting applications for the full-time position of judicial secretary. The Court is located in Youngstown, Ohio. The candidate must be currently employed, or have recent employment, as a paralegal, legal assistant or secretary with a minimum of five years of experience. Further, the candidate will have a demonstrated record of maintaining confidential information; self-direction; strong time/calendaring management; proof-reading ability; and competent filing and court systems data entry skills. The individual must be highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. The starting salary is $25,000 plus benefits.
